Hi everyone. I am a first-year gardener. I realize that my soil is not in ideal condition and that it will take several years to get it there.

That being said, I have done very well (I think). All of my plants look beautiful and healthy. However, they aren't producing any veggies (or relatively few veggies). I have only had 2 cucumbers, 2 zucchini (though they were nice ones), and I have no summer squash or pattypan squash, no peppers, and very little broccoli (very small heads) even though the plants look great. I have plenty of bees, wasps, etc...

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

My tomatoes all look good and I got plenty of green beans, spinach, pole beans, carrots, lettuce, etc.

My beets didn't do anything. The greens looked great but the roots were tiny like baby carrots. My turnips were very small as well.

Is there anything I could give my plants at this late date to help them produce veggies? Or should I just chalk it up to a learning experience and try using more compost and stuff next year?

Thanks in advance for your responses.
