Good Shepherd Food Bank is looking for farmer/growers in the Machias area and South of Machias
in Washington County to work with our Mainers Feeding Mainers program.

The goal of the program is to connect a local food pantry with a local farmer
or grower. We would like to start out small at 500 to 1000 lbs of produce.

Nancy Perry is looking mostly for root crops such as carrots, cabbage,
winter squash, and onions. But she is very flexible and will take other
crops as well. It can be in small amounts spread out over the
growing/harvest season.

MFM pays $1.00 a pound at these small amounts and in addition, there is a
donation receipt we supply that can be used for tax purposes for any
donated produce. The farmer/grower fills out the form, sends a copy of it
into us, and keeps a copy for their tax records.

Interested farmers can contact Wendy at Good Shepard Food Bank: wleighton@gsfb.org
