Join us at the Owls Head Transportation Museum for a celebration of draft-power and horse-drawn transportation. The Museum will host a draft powered vehicle auction and show on Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9. Exhibitors will showcase various forms of horse drawn transportation and demonstrations with working draft animals including oxen, horses and mules during the two-day event.

The vehicle auction will commence on Saturday, June 8, and will include the sale of a variety of horse-drawn vehicles for pleasure and work. The auction inventory will include antique carriages, sleighs and buggies in addition to parts and accessories for various draft-powered vehicles. The Museum is presently accepting consignments of draft-powered farming implements and horse-drawn vehicles of all kinds to be sold at auction.

On Sunday, June 9 demonstrations and rides will be offered on site at the Owls Head Transportation Museum. Demonstrations will include working animal and driving demos as well as a blacksmithing demo.

Additionally, the Museum is seeking to contract additional exhibitors for the event. Any club or individual interested in participating in the homage to draft power and horse drawn transportation is invited to contact curator Ethan Yankura for details. All types of working animal, animal care and other relevant demonstrators are encouraged to participate. Details of auction procedure for interested bidders and consignors can also be obtained by calling Yankura at (207) 594-4418.
