We just came from the San Juan Islands in WA where they have a decent farm to cafeteria program. Not only is it helping farmers find a market for a broad range of products across a broad range of seasons, but it has helped improve student's diet and behavior.

I was horrified when my High School daughter came home from HS the other day and told us what was served for breakfast & lunch at school. Not only that, but the cost is only 33 cents to the student! Now either the meals are heavily subsidized or..the food cost of those meals is an appalling 11 cents per student. This means the future generation is getting the worst possible food & nutrition at the lowest industrial cost.

Something needs to be done.
