Motivated, responsible, nurturing individual wanted for diversified learning experience on Vermont beef farm. Primary responsibility will be to assist with calving and calf care. Working closely with our herdsmen and learning by hands-on experience, intern will take part in all the day-to-day activities surrounding our genetically fascinating herd. Other tasks will include pasture management & rotation, cattle health care, fencing installation & maintenance, and general gardening and barn work.

We are a 100-head full-blood Wagyu beef farm, producing meat, semen, and embryos for sale throughout New England and New York. For further information about our farm, please see our website: www.vermontwagyu.com

Minimum Requirements:
Hard-working Team Player with day-to-day flexibility
Drivers License
Own Transportation
Ability to lift bales of hay
Two References
2-month minimum commitment

Other Skills a Plus: (but training & education will be provided)
Experience working with cattle
Knowledgeable about heat detection, breeding, and calving
Experience with herd management software

Rotating work schedule will include weekends and evening responsibilities.
Compensation: Housing & monthly stipend, to be negotiated based upon initiative and experience.
Intern assumes responsibility for own health insurance.
