Prospective Intern(s),

We are a small CSA in Durham, Maine, looking for two extra hands, a fresh perspective, and some skills that will help get us up and running. The farm has fallen into somewhat of a neglected state and needs some freshening up. We would like to work out a deal where an intern would contribute around twenty hours a week (I'll elaborate on what we're looking for) in exchange for enough shares to populate a farmers' market booth each week, room (which will eventually be a yurt),and communal meals once a day each day of the week, of which the intern will prepare two. It would be great to have somebody here beginning mid April and ending September.

The intern would assist with the following activities; carpentry, planting, harvesting, interfacing with CSA customers, tending to livestock (pigs, chickens, ducks, and geese), clearing and maintaining ski trails, yurt construction, slaughtering (yes:(), and others I can't think of at the moment.

Your obligation would be twenty hours a week, leaving extra time for a part-time job if needed. This position does not pay a set amount; it depends on your work ethic and motivation to sell produce to the public at farmers' markets.

If this is something that excites you, mail your resume and cover letter to 125 Bowie Hill Road, Durham, Maine 04222, or email in body of message (no attachments)to; mainefarmguy@hotmail.com

Thanks for your consideration,
Seth, Coordinator at Brookside Farm
