What happens when a large apple orchard is unmaintained for more then 3 years? Weeds take over, vines grow on trees, and it is almost impossible to reclaim the farm that once was. But not without your help! And the help of a dedicated few who are willing to come out to Standish, Maine to volunteer for 4 – 6 hours on helping us preserve this great New England tradition. Bring the family. Bring friends. We’re having a farm mob on two consecutive Saturdays. We bring lunch, you bring the strong backs and together we’ll bring this agricultural landmark back into production.

Pam and Rowan started leasing Moulton Orchard last year from the Moulton Family after 2 years of no activity. With a love of agriculture, cider, and all things apple, it is our belief that local food production is an important part of community resilience, security and our Maine heritage.

The Moulton Orchard is located on Route 35, just a ½ mile from scenic Sebago Lake.

What activities are available for volunteers?

• Light Pruning (we can teach you how)
• Weeding
• Composting
• Seeding
• Sheet mulching
• Walk behind bush-hog (whoa nelly!)
• Farm stuff

Please RSVP so we can have proper tools and food for you!
