The farm is located in Washington County, along the edge of Maine's easternmost coast. The traditional livelihoods of fishing, farming, and forestry are still the mainstay for many families. We exist in a largely resource-based economy with people living very close to the rhythms of the earth and its changing seasons. Currently, members of the 7th generation sustainably manage the woodlands and manage blueberry fields. The renovated century-old farmhouse is a vacation rental enjoyed by people who want to experience the beauty of coastal Maine on a historical working family farm.


HANCOCK COUNTY CSA OFFERINGS:

Variety Meat Package: This package includes between 10 and 12 lbs of Tide Mill Farm’s Certified Organic, Pasture Raised Meats: Including Chicken, Beef and Pork. Our Availability list of products and prices (available on our website, or we can mail or email it to you) includes information about all the cuts that we offer. We will select a variety of our meats giving you a diverse selection of certified organic meats for you and your family to enjoy. You can expect your meat package to include 1 whole chicken (or the equivalent in pieces), at least 2 packages of ground beef, another beef cut such as stew meat or a roast, and two pork products, such as pork chops, pork roast, bacon, or sausage.

Pricing and Options: 1 Month Variety Meat Package, $60 plus delivery. 6 Month Variety Meat Package, $350 plus a 25% discount on delivery. 12 Month Variety Meat Package, $675 plus 50% discount on delivery. Add Tide Mill Organic Farm’s Fresh, Unpasteurized and Unhomogenized Milk to your Meat CSA Package (must be delivered with the Meat Package) for $5.50 per gallon.

When you sign up for a CSA program, we include an Availability List which is a complete list of our products and prices. CSA members are asked to cross off the items that they strongly dislike and do not want included in their meat packages. We also ask that you * the items that you really like. We will try to include as much of those items as possible. We will not include your strong dislikes as part of your meat packages. It is our job to make sure you are completely satisfied and it is your job to be flexible. Please keep in mind that a CSA offers the unique opportunity to try new things. With the internet and local libraries and neighbors, there is a lot of information about learning to cook something new.

How You Can Get It: We deliver to the Ellsworth area every other Friday. A $10.00 delivery fee per stop applies. We also work with Crown of Maine Organic Cooperative (See http://www.crownofmainecoop.com). They deliver to the Ellsworth area every other Tuesday. Ask how Tide Mill Organic Milk and Meats can be included in your Crown of Maine Buying Club. There is no delivery charge if you pick up your meat and milk at our farm in Edmunds, Maine. However, you must make prior arrangements to make sure your order will be ready for you when you come to pick it up.

WASHINGTON COUNTY CSA OFFERINGS:

Variety Meat Package and Milk as described above, PLUS a vegetable share option:
$300 worth of fresh, organic vegetables and herbs. The choices you will have each week are intended to provide a small family with a large part of their seasonal vegetable needs. The amount of food you will receive will range from 5-18 pounds (an average of 13 lbs) for 20 weeks beginning in the 2nd week of June and continuing through October. How does our food get to you?
We deliver to the Lubec/Trescott area every Monday. We deliver to Whiting-Columbia Falls on Tuesday. We deliver to Dennysville-Calais & Eastport on Thursdays. A negotiable $5.00 delivery fee per stop applies. There is no delivery charge if you pick up your meat and milk at our farm in Edmunds, Maine. However, you must make prior arrangements to make sure your order will be ready for you when you come to pick it up.

You can sign up for our CSA anytime of the year. Checks are the preferred payment method. Make checks payable to Tide Mill Organic Farm and mail to 91 Tide Mill Road, Edmunds, ME 04628. CSA Member Shares help us to cover the costs of operating our farm and raising our animals until they ready for harvest.
