Cultivating Community is growing sustainable communities. We are based in Portland, Maine, with farming operations at the Boyd Street Urban Farm in Portland, Turkey Hill Farm in Cape Elizabeth, and Packard-Littlefield Farm in Lisbon. Cultivating Community uses organic, sustainable practices and Boyd Street and Turkey Hill are MOFGA certified.
Cultivating Community mission is to strengthen communities by growing food, preparing youth leaders and new farmers, and promoting social and environmental justice. We use our community food work as an engine for high-impact youth and community development programs that reconnect people to the natural and social systems that sustain us all. Our refugee farmers market under the collective Fresh Start Farms.
What We Offer: Singles shares (feeds two) for $250 and family shares (feeds four) for $500/season. Seasonal vegetables, herbs, and fruit are included in your share.
How You Can Get It: Sign up on our website at www.cultivatingcommunity.org or contact Fresh Start Farms at Cultivating Community by May 15th, or after for rolling registration at freshstartfarms@gmail.com or call (207) 761-GROW.
Choose your share size and pre-pay 1/2 before the first half of the season (July/Aug) and remainder before the second half of the season (Sept/Oct). EBT users pay weekly. Work trade option is available. Please contact us. Flexible payment plans and work-trade options are available, please contact to make arrangements.
