OUR FARM PRODUCTS: We offer vegetables (including many heirlooms), culinary herbs (including 6 types of basil alone), PYO raspberries, CYO flowers; also flower, vegetable and herb seedlings, as well as hanging baskets, deck and dock planters, potted annuals and perennials. Members can also use their share balances for personal consultations at their own garden locations on soil improvement, planting systems, pruning strategies and more.
Contact us for 2011 planting plans.
OUR CSA: We offer a small number of shares. Members benefit from knowing they are helping to preserve a family-owned source for farm products and can choose from a wide range of superior quality products produced with environmentally responsible methods, all while saving money. The farm benefits from having a source of income early in the season and does not need to borrow money for annual seed, compost and other supplies.
MEMBERSHIPS: $300 'free range' shares with the option to add $100 increments during the season. Members shop from their pre-paid balance and receive a 10% membership premium (15% for memberships paid in full by January 10 each year) on all farm products: plants, vegetables, PYO raspberries, PYO flowers.
Our season will run for about 20 weeks beginning late April/early May. If any share portions are unused by the end of the farm season, one-half of the unused portion may be applied to the next year's membership.
For further information see our farm blog: maplespringsfarm.wordpress.com, especially the pages “Our CSA” and “How I Grow Stuff.”
HOW TO JOIN: $50 deposit upon sign-up, with final payment due 3/15.
WHERE TO GET YOUR STUFF: Members may shop at the farm six days a week from 9 – 5:30 (closed Tuesday) or at any Farmers’ Market we attend: currently Portland Wednesday 8 - 2 and Saturday 7 -12.
