At Deep Roots Farm, we offer a subscription-based CSA to families interested in local produce on a regular basis. Our produce is naturally grown, and no agricultural chemicals have been used on the land in over 20 years. We use sustainable methods and farm by our own labor, using primarily hand tools. Our goal is to bring fresh local produce from our farm directly to your table.

What We Offer: In 2010, we are offering a seasonal vegetable share for $325. Our CSA share is designed for individuals or couples who eat a mixed diet, or an individual who is vegetarian. The season lasts approximately 18 weeks, from early June through mid-October. We grow a diversified crop of seasonal vegetables, including specialty salad greens such as spicy mesclun mix, arugula and a colorful lettuce mix. Please visit our website at www.deeprootsfarm.net for a list of vegetables you might expect during the season.
Our intention is to build community around the land and its bounty. CSA member benefits will include an e-newsletter, volunteer work parties, occasional potlucks, and a recipe exchange. We will also be selling our produce at the new Scarborough Farmers' Market held on Sunday mornings during the season.

How You Can Get It: To reserve your 2010 share, please email us first to see if we have space available. We have a few spaces left for 2010. If the CSA fills up, we will put you on a waiting list. To sign up, we request a $100 deposit by March 15th, with the balance due by May 1st. The pickup day and time will be Thursday afternoon from 2 - 6 pm. Feel free to contact us to learn more about our farm or with other questions: deeprootsfarm@maine.rr.com.
