The Institute for Mindful Agriculture (IMA) is an action research organizatiom. Our vision is to connect our current food and farming systems to a future of health and well-being for all.

We work with foodshed systems, social learning and community organizing, connection to nature and place, and spiritual traditions in food and farming. These areas of work show how deeply connected farming is to everyone's everyday lives. Mindfulness is our approach to addressing ecological, social, and economic ills of our current agricultural and food systems. Mindfulness shows us how being present allows awareness of our relationships to self, other, and Earth, a key step in consciously changing these relationships. The leverage point for our work is to connect the inner transformation that awareness brings with the societal innovation needed to make effective change.
